The iPod silhouette is known around the world. In fact, need not be a name in the ad, or even a clear visual of the iPod product, and yet the public knows that the advertisement in question belongs to Apple always innovative. A marketing strategy that took a life of its own, now the iPod silhouette is an icon in itself - just like the device is meant to market the iPod.

When Apple is preparing to market the iPod, they need the publicity that would be in the minds of their customers. They wanted something that represents the freshness of the iPod, something that would change the face of advertising as easily as the iPod could change the face of the music industry. The iPod was revolutionary, so the advertising should be revolutionary, too.

The famous commercial for the iPod with a person who began dancing in the shade against a bright background color. The silhouette boogie to the music while keeping an iPod and listen to music through headphones icon, which appears in white on the ads, which highlighted the dancer and the background. The hearing became so common that previously had its own name: the silhouette.

The ads were an instant hit, and the iPod campaign recognizable in virtually overnight. The silhouette is not only popular on television - is also common to see a silhouette, in a wild time dancing on the side of a building or a poster, iPod in hand. Occasionally a notice with the iPod is not in sight, but the headphones were presented - a sign that even the accessories of the iPod entered the culture.

The silhouette of the iPod before had been represented by the two trends and legends, including U2, Mary J. Blige, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Eminem.

The silhouette has made its way into other parts of popular culture as well. It is now a popular technique for wedding photos, scrapbooking common among enthusiasts, and is often displayed on posters and stickers. Apple has always been at the forefront of the publicity, but was never more evident than in the iPod silhouette ads, and recognition of the storm that followed.
