How to Make Duct Tape iPod Cases

With the prices of the iPod up in the hundreds, it is important to protect them. When I received my first concert 30 iPod classic as a gift, I knew I needed some kind of protection or not last week. Skate, snowboard, bike, jump on the trampoline, and only a little clumsy are all factors that worry me. Being an art student broke, do not want to buy an expensive affair. I decided to make one of each tape. The previous summer he had taught at Michaels, the arts and crafts store, teaching young children how to make crafts duck tape. We made bags, wallets, bracelets, rings, picture frames, and belts. True, you can actually do something with duct tape.

I grabbed some tape, foam, plastic ruler, a cutting board and got to work. Wrapping duck tape around the foam, I had the opportunity to add a significant amount of padding to protect against breakage in the event of a fall. Plastic also secured in the holes of the screen and touch pad to clean the iPod. Basically a pocket built for the iPod to fall into. Remains intact with a small Velcro strap that is secured in between the headphone jack and hold switch. The case has a good level. My iPod is still in great condition after many falls.

It does not cost much to make and can be completely customized using tape color of your choice. I added pictures and written instructions for each of the 59 steps of the design and then posted on my website for anyone interested in making an iPod of his own case. I hate when I open a book and crafts are the paragraphs of instructions with only two images to accompany them. I am a visual learner as I am sure many others are also artisans.

Not everything has to be bought in a store. Creating things with their own hands and imagination is fun and rewarding. Try it!
